μοιχός, ὁ, A. adulterer, paramour, 74, Fr.[1127.6], Pl. 168, Smp. 191d, etc.: prov., θύραν, διʼ ἧς γαλῆ καὶ μ. οὐκ εἰσέρχεται 6; ὅρκοι μοιχῶν 7; κεκαρμένος μοιχὸν μιᾷ μαχαίρᾳ having the head close shaven with a razor, as was done by way of punishment to persons taken in adultery, Ach. 849.
