ὑπόληψις (later ὑπό-λημψις in Tht. 3.14, etc., v. infr. II.3b), εως, ἡ, (ὑπολαμβάνω) A. taking up, esp. taking up the cue, taking up the matter where another leaves off, ἠνάγκασε τοὺς ῥαψῳδοὺς . . ἐξ ὑπολήψεως ἐφεξῆς αὐτὰ διιέναι Hipparch. 228b; cf. ὑποβολή I.3. 2. rejoinder, reply, ὑ. ποιεῖσθαι 11.30, cf. 12.150 (ἐπι- Cobet, Blass, in both places).
