A. on a sudden, Il. 17.738, 21.14, O. 9.52, Pr. 1077 (anap.), OC 1610, etc.: c. part., ψυχὴν θεωρεῖν ἐ. ἀποθανόντος ἑκάστου the moment that he is dead, Grg. 523e; ἀκούσαντι ἐ. at first hearing, Cra. 396b: c. Art., τό γʼ ἐ. 18.153; but τὸ ἐ. the instantaneous, that which is between motion and rest, and not in the time-series, Prm. 156d; but, = τὸ ἐν ἀναισθήτῳ χρόνῳ διὰ μικρότητα ἐκστάν, Ph. 222b15.
