εὐγενής, ές, in εὐηγενής (q.v.), and in h.Ven. 94 ἠϋγενής: (γένος):—A. well-born, Pers. 704 (troch.), OC 728, etc.; εὐ. δόμος Ion 1540; τὸ μὲν ἐστίχθαι εὐγενὲς κέκριται being tattooed is esteemed a mark of nobility, 5.6. 2. in Trag. etc. with the connotation noble-minded, generous (more prop. γενναῖος, cf. Rh. 1390b22), Ant. 38, Ph. 874, etc.; διαφέρει φύσις γενναίου σκύλακος . . νεανίσκου εὐ.
