ἐπιτίμιον, τό, mostly in pl., ἐπιτίμια, τά, A. value, price, or estimate of a thing, i.e., 1. the honours paid to a person, ἔστʼ Ὀρέστου ταῦτα τἀπ. El. 915 (nisi leg. τἀπιτύμβια). 2. assessment of damages, penalty or penalties, ἐ. διδόναι τινί inflict.., 4.80, cf. Hec. 1086, etc.; τῶνδε τἀπ. for these things, Pers. 823 ; τοῖς ἐ. ἔνοχοι τοῦ φόνου 4.1.4 ; τὰ ἐκ τῶν νόμων ἐ. 4 ; ἐ. δυσσεβείας the wages of ungodliness, El. 1382, cf.
