ἀπράγμων, ον, gen. ονος, A. free from business (πράγματα), easy-going, fond of quiet, esp. of those who refrain from meddling in politics, opp. πολυπράγμων, ὅστις δὲ πράσσει πολλά . . μωρὸς παρὸν ζῆν ἡδέως ἀπράγμονα Fr. 193; τῶν ἀ. γε πόρνων κοὐχὶ τῶν σεμνῶν [τις ὤν] 8.4D.; esp. with political connotation, not meddling in public affairs, ‘mugwump’, ἄν τινʼ αὐτῶν γνῷς ἀπράγμονʼ ὄντα καὶ κεχηνότα Eq. 261, cf. 3.2.1; αὐτουργοί τε καὶ ἀ.
