θέσκελος, ον, Ep. Adj. perh. A. set in motion by God (κέλλω), and so marvellous, wondrous, always of things, θ. ἔργα deeds or works of wonder, Il. 3.130, Od. 11.610; θέσκελα εἰδώς Call.Fr.anon.385: neut. Adv., ἔϊκτο δὲ θέσκελον αὐτῷ it was wondrous like him, Il. 23.107; prob. taken by later poets as,= God-inspired (κελεύω) , θ. Ἑρμῆς Coluth. 126.
