σκιόεις, εσσα, εν (neut. σκιόειν metri gr., A.R. 2.404):—A. shady, shadowy, οὔρεα, ὄρεα σ., shady, i.e. thickly wooded, mountains, Il. 1.157, Od. 7.268, Pi. P. 9.34; μέγαρα σ. dark chambers, Od. 1.365, 4.768; ὄρθρον ὑπὸ σκιόεντα the morning twilight, Tryph. 236. 2.
