Πρωτεσίλαος [ῐ], ὁ, Dor. -λας, α, I. 1.58; Ion. and Att. Πρωτεσι-λέως, εω:—A. First of the people, name of the hero who first leaped ashore at Troy, Il. 2.698 (so understood by , ib.702, but the name may be a corruption of Πορθεσίλαος, cf. Cret. Πορθεσίλας and Πορτεσίλας) :—Πρωτεσιλάειον, τό, his monument, 13.1.31: Πρωτεσιλάεια, τά, his festival, Sch. I. 1.11.
