λέκτρον, τό, (λέχομαι) A. couch, bed, Hom. (esp. in Od.); λέκτρονδε to bed, Od. 8.292: also in pl., Il. 22.503, Od. 20.58, etc.; Arc. for κλίνη acc. to AB 1095. II. later, mostly in pl., marriage-bed, Pi. N. 8.6 (sg.); παρθένοις γαμηλίων λ. ἀπείροις A. Fr. 242; λέκτρων εὐναί Id. Pers. 543 (anap.); λέκτρων κοῖται E. Alc. 925 (anap.); κοίτας λέκτρον Id. Med. 436 (lyr.); but τὸ δυσπάρευνον λ. S. Tr. 791: hence γῆμαι λέκτρα τινός wed one, E. Med. 594; λέκτρα προδοῦναι, αἰσχῦναι, etc., Id.
