κισσύβιον [ῠ], τό, A. rustic drinking-cup of wood, used by the Cyclops, Od. 9.346; by Eumaeus, 14.78; κ. ἀμφῶες Theoc. 1.27 (but expld. as μόνωτον ποτήριον, Philem.Gloss. ap. Ath. 11.476f); ὀλίγῳ ἥδετο κ. Call. Aet. 1.1.12.—So called, either as made of ivy-wood, Eumolp. ap. Ath. 11.477a; or because adorned with ivy-wreaths, Poll. 6.97: in late Prose, οἴνου κ. Prisc.p.316 D.
