ὅμαδος, ὁ, A. noise, din, esp. of the confused voices of a number of men (coupled with δοῦπος, the tramp of men), Il. 9.573, 23.234, Od. 10.556 (nowh. else in Od.) ; also opp. the sound of flutes and pipes, συρίγγων τʼ ἐνοπὴν ὅμαδόν τʼ ἀνθρώπων Il. 10.13, cf.
