ἐϋκτίμενος [ῐ], η, ον, (κτίζω) A. = εὖ ναιόμενος, good to dwell in, epith. of cities, ἐϋ. πτολίεθρον Il. 2.501, etc.; πόλις 5.149; of anything on which manʼs labour has been bestowed, νῆσον ἐϋκτιμένην ἐκάμοντο wrought it so as to be good to dwell in, Od. 9.130; ἐϋ. ἐν ἀλωῇ on a well-made threshing-floor, Il. 20.496, 21.77; the same phrase, of a garden, well-wrought, Od. 24.226. (εὐκτ- in h.Ap. 36, l.c.)
