ἐνοπή, ἡ, (ἐνέπω) A. crying, shouting, as of birds, Τρῶες μὲν κλαγγῇ τʼ ἐνοπῇ τʼ ἴσαν, ὄρνιθες ὥς Il. 3.2; esp. war-cry, battle-shout, μάχη ἐνοπή τε 12.35, 16.246, etc. (hence, battle, AP 6.163 (Mel.)); also, cry of sorrow, ἐνοπήν τε γόον τε Il. 24.160; wild cry, ἐν Φρυγίαισι βοαῖς ἐνοπαῖσί τε E.
