ἐνδέξιος, α, ον, Hom. only neut. pl. ἐνδέξια, A. towards the right hand, from left to right, mostly as Adv., θεοῖς ἐνδέξια πᾶσιν οἰνοχόει he filled for all the gods from left to right, Il. 1.597; δεῖξʼ ἐνδέξια πᾶσιν 7.184; βῆ δʼ ἴμεν αἰτήσων ἐνδέξια φῶτα ἕκαστον Od. 17.365; τὴν ἐπὶ πυρκαϊῆς ἐ. φασι κέλευθον Ἑρμῆν τοὺς ἀγαθοὺς . . ἄγειν AP 7.545 (Hegesipp.): regarded as lucky, hence ἐνδέξια σήματα propitious omens, Il. 9.236, cf. SIG 1025.25 (Cos). 2. after Hom. without any sense of motion, on the right, v. l. in E. Hipp. 1360 (anap.); ἐνδέξιος σῷ ποδὶ παρασπιστής on thy right, Id.
