ἄντυξ, ῠγος, ἡ, A. edge or rim of anything round or curved; and so, I. in Hom. (only in Il.): 1. rim of round shield, 11.6.118, al., E. Rh. 373 (lyr.). 2. rail round front of chariot, ἐξ ἄντυγος ἡνία τείνας 5.262,322; δοιαὶ δὲ περίδρομοι ἄντυγές εἰσι 5.728; καὶ ἄντυγες αἱ περὶ δίφρον 11.535: in pl. also S. Aj. 1030, Pl.
