ἀκάματος, ον, also η, ον Th. 747, 5.25, Ant. 339:—A. without sense of toil, hence, 1. untiring, unresting, in always epith. of fire, Il. 5.4, Od. 20.123,al.; ἄνεμοι 111.3; σθένος Pers. 901; ἅλς B.l.c.; ἀ. γῆ earth that never rests from tillage, or inexhaustible, S.l.c.:—neut. ἀκάματα as Adv., El. 164(lyr.). 2. not tired, χείρ Fract. 3; ὄμματα 18.20. 3. metaph., δόξα 12.178; πρόνοια Stoic. 1.125. II. Act., not tiring, CD 2.13. Adv. -τως, in Comp., less painfully, Mul. 1.1:—also -τεί s.v. ἀκμητί. [ᾰκᾰμᾰτος El. 164; but first syll. long in dactylic verse.]
