ἀγκύλη [ῠ], ἡ, (ᾰγκος) properly, A. like ἀγκάλη, bend of the arm or wrist, ἀπ ἀγκύλης ἱέναι, a phrase descriptive of the way in which the cottabus was thrown, B. Fr. 13.2, cf. Hsch.; ἀπ ἀγκύλης ζησι λάταγας Cratin. 273; wrongly expl. as cup, Ath. 11.782d. 2. bend of the knee, ham, Philostr. Im. 2.6, Sch.Il. 23.726. 3. joint bent and stiffened by disease, Hp.
