φροῦδος, η, ον, also ος, ον El. 807, IT 154 (lyr.), 2.263a: (contr. from πρὸ ὁδοῦ, as φροίμιον from προοίμιον, φρουρός from *προορός): —A. gone away, clean gone (as says in full, οἱ δʼ ᾤχοντο ἰδὲ πρὸ ὁδοῦ ἐγένοντο, Il. 4.382): 1. of persons, gone, fled, departed, φ. ἐστι Ant. 15, etc.; φ. ἐξ οἴκων, δόμων ἄπο, Alc. 94 (lyr.), Andr. 73; σκηνὰς ἐς ἱεράς Ion 804; βεβᾶσι φ.
