πῆξις, εως, Ion. ιος, ἡ, (πήγνυμι) A. fixing, putting together, esp. of woodwork, θυρωμάτων Plt. 280d (pl.). 2. Astrol., fixing, τοῦ ἀναφορικοῦ 24.18, cf. Cat.Cod.Astr. 2.196. II. solidity, πῆξιν λαβεῖν 1.7 (but metaph., acquire fixity, 3.138, cf. Pr. 56). 2. coagulation, Phlb. 32a; freezing, Aër. 8; [ὕδατος] π.
