παρήκω, A. to have come alongside : hence, lie beside, stretch along, παρὰ πᾶσαν [τὴν θάλασσαν] 2.32, cf. 4.39,42, 9.15 ; παρὰ τὸ ὀστέον Loc.Hom. 6 ; πρὸς ἡλίου δύσιν μέχρι τοῦ Ὀσκίου ποταμοῦ 2.96 ; εἰς τὸ πλάγιον Cyn. 4.1 ; π. πρὸς τὸ πλῆθος extend to the length, Po. 1459b22. II. pass in any direction, ἔνδοθεν στέγης μὴ ʼξω παρήκειν Aj. 742. III. of Time, to be past, ὁ παρήκων χρόνος the past, opp. ὁ μέλλων, Ph. 222b1 ; but also 2. εἰς τὸ παρῆκον τοῦ χρόνου up to the present time, Alc. 2.148c. 3. ὡς ἂν παρήκῃ as occasion arises, ap. 8.23.1.
