ἐπίλογος, ὁ, A. reasoning, inference, only Ion., 1.27; τῆς γνώμης ποιέεσθαι ἐπίλογον give a reason for their opinion, Nat.Hom. 1. II. peroration of a speech, Rh. 1414b12, 2.96, Rh. 1.202 , 12.5, etc. 2. the concluding portion of a play, = ἔκθεσις,Sch. Ra. 1548: metaph., ἐ. τῆς κοσμοποιίας 1.237. 3. subjoined or explanatory sentence, Rh. 1394b8, cf.a11.—In El. 719 (lyr.), ἐπίλογοι is corrupt.
