ἐγχωρέω, A. give room to do a thing, allow, ὁ χρόνος οὐκ ἐγχωρεῖ, c. inf., Lys. 26.6, X. Eq. 12.13: abs., ὅσον ἐνεχώρεε ἡ δεκάτη so far as the money allowed her to go, Hdt. 2.135; ἂν ἐγχωρῇ τὸ ὕδωρ (i.e. the water-clock), D. 44.45. b. c. acc., admit of, κλίσιν Arr.
