Mete. 341b35, etc.), aor. 1 διῇξα (v. infr.):—A. rush or dart through or across, πυρὸς λαμπρὸν διάϊσσεν μένος B. 3.54; λαγὸς ἐς τὸ μέσον διήϊξε Hdt. 4.134: also c. acc., Λύκιʼ ὄρεα διᾴσσει S. OT 208 (lyr.); of sound, ἀχὼ . . διῇξεν ἄντρων μυχόν A. Pr. 133 (lyr.) (but φήμη διῇξε spread abroad, E. IA 426); of pain, σπασμὸς διῇξε πλευρῶν S. Tr. 1083, cf. Hp.
