ψῦξις, εως, , A. a cooling, chilling; χιόνος ἢ ἄλλης ψύξιος means of cooling, v.l. in Hp. VM 16. 2. a being or becoming cold, ψ. νεηνικωτάτη ib.16; αἵματος ἐν ψύξει ὄντος Pl. Ti. 85d: pl., opp. καύσεις, Id. Tht. 156b; opp. θερμότητες, Lg. 897a, Arist. GA 777b27. II. = πνοή, Hsch.
