προτεραῖος, α, ον, (πρότερος) A. previous to, qualifying ἡμέρα, c. gen., τῇ π. ἡμέρᾳ τῆς μάχης on the day before the battle, Th. 5.75: more freq. alone, τῇ π. (sc. ἡμέρᾳ) Hdt. 1.84, 126, etc. (in full, τῇ π. ἡμέρᾳ (s. v.l.) Pl.
