προσφύω, with fut. and aor. 1, A. cause to grow to: metaph., καὶ ταῦτʼ ἀληθῆ . . προσφύσω λόγῳ will make sure, confirm, Supp. 276; τοῦτο τῷ νῦν λόγῳ εὖ προσέφυσας Nu. 372. II. mostly in Pass., with aor. 2 and pf. Act. and fut. Med., grow to or upon, σῷ κέρατα κρατὶ προσπεφυκέναι Ba. 921, cf.
