πρόγονος, ον, (γίγνομαι, γέγονα) A. early-born, [ἄρνες], opp. μέτασσαι, Od. 9.221, cf. 7.74, SIG 1038.9 (Eleusis, iv/iii B.C.); first-born, 2.1301 (dub.). 2. = ἀπόγονος I, dub. in 7.50.
