Πλούτων, ωνος, , A. Pluto, god of the nether world, first in Trag., as A. Pr. 806, S. Ant. 1200, E. Alc. 360, HF 808 (lyr.): acc. to Plato (from πλοῦτος) the wealth-giver, a name of Hades, ὅτι ἐκ τῆς γῆς ἀνίεται [ὁ πλοῦτος], Cra. 403a, cf. πλουτοδότης; identified with Plutus, and considered as the god of riches, cf. S. Fr. 273, Ar. Pl. 727:—hence Πλουτώνιος, α, ον, of or belonging to Pluto;
