οἶος, α (Ep. η), ον, Cypr. οἶϝος Inscr.Cypr. 135.14 H. :—A. alone, lonely, freq. in Hom. and Hes., thrice in Pi., once in A., twice in S. (v. infr.) :—Special usages: 1. defined by the addition of other words, οἶ. ἄνευθʼ ἄλλων Il. 22.39 ; οἶ . . . , νόσφιν δεσποίνης Od. 14.450 ; οὐκ οἶ., ἅμα τῷ γε . . not alone, but . . , Il. 2.822, cf.
