λίθινος, η, ον, also ος, ον AP 9.719, 2.33:— A. made of stone, 10, 22, 3.88, 3.68, 7.109, PHib. 1.27.26 (iii B.C.), etc.; λ. θάνατος, i.e. caused by seeing the ‘s head, P. 10.48; so λ. εὐθὺς γίγνομαι 166.4; but, ἕστηκε λίθινος, of a statue, 2.141 (cf. ἵστημι A.Ι, B.ΙΙΙ.2); τὰ λ. marble statues, Lac. 3.5; Ἑρμῆς λ. 96; for 2.69, v. λίθος II.1, ὕαλος II: metaph., καρδία Ez. 11.19.
