κομψεύω, A. refine upon, κόμψευέ νυν τὴν δόξαν aye, quibble on the word δόξα (referring to the previous line), S. Ant. 324:—mostly in Med., to be smart, ingenious, ἥδεσθαι κομψευόμενος to be fond of clever inventions, Hp.
