(exc. 14.1 as etym. of Κελτική), = Prose ὀκέλλω: fut. κέλσω Supp. 331, Hec. 1057 (lyr.), κελῶ : aor. ἔκελσα (v. infr.):—A. drive on, only in Od., always in phrase νῆα κέλσαι run a ship to land, put her to shore, νῆα μὲν αὐτοῦ κέλσαι Od. 10.511; νῆα . . ἐκέλσαμεν ἐν ψαμάθοισιν 9.546; cause to land, ἀνδρῶν ἡρώων στόλον 2.1090: metaph., Ἄργει κ. πόδα El. 139 (lyr.). II. intr., of ships or seamen, put to shore or into harbour, κελσάσῃσι δὲ νηυσὶ καθείλομεν ἱστία Od. 9.149; κέλσαντες Σιμόεντος ἐπʼ ἀκτάς Ag. 696 (lyr.), cf.
