A. beautify the face: hence, give a fair appearance to a thing, embellish, κ. ὄνομα Cra. 408b, cf. 409c (Pass.), Hom.p.58 O.; τὴν πόλιν, ὥσπερ γυναῖκα Per. 12; τὸ λογικόν Epict. 3.1.26:—Pass., οἰκία . . δαπάνῃ κεκαλλωπισμένη Hier. 11.2, cf.
