ἐπονείδιστος, ον, A. to be reproached, disgraceful, shameful, E. IT 689 ; ἐ. εἰρήνη Isoc. 12.106 (Comp.), cf. D. 19.336 ; ἀμαθία Pl. Ap. 29b, etc. ; τινι to one, X. Smp. 8.34 ; ἐπονείδιστόν ἐστι παρά τισι is matter of reproach, D. 26.19 ; ὄνομα τοὐπονείδιστον βροτοῖς the name of reproach among men, E. Fr. 922 : Comp., Arist. EN 1119a25 : Sup., X. Smp. 8.19.
