Prt. 317a. 2. base of operations against, κατὰ Κύπρου App. Syr. 52. II. in the Logic of Arist., attempted, i.e. dialectical proof, opp. a demonstrative syllogism (φιλοσόφημα), Top. 162a16, etc.: so in Rhet., [Cic.]ad Herenn.2.2.2, D.H.
