ἐνίημι, fut. -ήσω Th. 4.115: aor. -ῆκα, Ep. -έηκα: [mostly ἐνῐημι in Ep., always ἐνῑημι in Trag.; but ἐνῑετε Il. 12.441]:—Α. send in or into, ἄλλους δʼ ὀτρύνοντες ἐνήσομεν will send into the battle, ib.14.131; ἄλλην ἐνίησι πατὴρ ἐναρίθμιον εἶναι Od. 12.65. 2. implant, inspire, c. acc. rei et dat. pers., ἐνῆκε δέ οἱ μένος ἠΰ Il. 20.80; καί οἱ μυίης θάρσος ἐνὶ στήθεσσιν ἐνῆκε 17.570; τοῖσιν κότον αἰνὸν ἐνήσεις 16.449; ἐνεὶς ἐλαφρὰν λύσσαν E.
