εἶτα, Ion. εἶτεν (q.v., cf. ἔπειτα, -εν), Adv., used to denote the Sequence of one act or state upon another : I. of Sequence in time, without any notion of Cause, then, next, πρῶτα μέν.., εἶτα.. S. El. 262, cf. Pl. Phdr. 251a, etc. ; soon, presently, S. OT 452 ; εἶτα τί τοῦτο; well, what then? Ar. Nu. 347, Pl. Prt. 309a ; εἶτα.. τότε then.. after that, Ar. Eq. 1036 codd. (fort. τόδε) : freq. repeated, sts. alternating with ἔπειτα, then.., next.., then.., after that.., etc., Men. 154, etc. ; with πάλιν, SIG 1171 ; εἶτʼ οὖν also, Sch.Pi.
