ἔγγαιος, α, ον, more commonly ἔγγειος, ον, (γαῖα, γῆ) A. in or of the land, native, ἥβα Pers. 922 (anap.); τις . . οἰωνοπόλων ἔγγαιος Supp. 59 (lyr.). 2. within the land, opp. ὑπερόριος, Smp. 4.31. II. of property, in land, consisting of land, οὐσία Fr. 91, 36.5; κτήσεις ἔγγειοι καὶ οἰκίαι IG 9(2).338.9 (Thess.), cf.
