ἐατέος, α, ον, (ἐάω) A. to be suffered, E. Ph. 1210: c. inf., ἐατέος ἐστὶ φεύγειν Hdt. 8.108, cf. Pl. R. 401b. 2. ἐατέον one must suffer, E. HF 173, etc. II. to be let alone or given up, ἐ. ὁ πλοῦτος Id. Hel. 905, cf. Ph. 1.564. 2. τὴν πόλιν ἐατέον τῆς κατοικίσεως we must let it alone as to foundation, Pl.
