ἐατέος, α, ον, (ἐάω) A. to be suffered, Ph. 1210: c. inf., ἐατέος ἐστὶ φεύγειν 8.108, cf. R. 401b. 2. ἐατέον one must suffer, HF 173, etc. II. to be let alone or given up, ἐ. ὁ πλοῦτος Hel. 905, cf. 1.564. 2. τὴν πόλιν ἐατέον τῆς κατοικίσεως we must let it alone as to foundation, Lg. 969c; one must dismiss from oneʼs mind, Grg. 512e; one must omit, 2.5.18.
