δύσκολος, ον, (κόλον): I. of persons, prop. hard to satisfy with food (cf. Ath. 6.262a): but, generally, hard to please, discontented, fretful, peevish, Ar. V. 942; γῆρας E. Ba. 1251; δ. ψυχὴ καὶ ἀγρία Pl. Lg. 649e, cf. Arist. EN 1108a30, etc.; τὸ δ. Pl. Lg. 791c; of animals, intractable, Id.
