Fr. 355: metaph. of bombastic language, τοσουτονὶ δ. ᾄσας Hp.Ma. 292c; οὐκέτι πόρρω διθυράμβων φθέγγομαι Phdr. 238d. II. a name of Dionysus, Ba. 526 (lyr.), 1:—hence Δῐθυραμβογενής, AP 9.524. ( is said to have written it λῡθίραμβος (Fr. 85) —as if from λῦθι ῥάμμα, the cry of Bacchus when sewn up in his fatherʼs thigh.)
