ἀθάνατος, ον, also η, ον (so regularly in sense Ι.1, poet. and 9.16):—A. undying, immortal, , etc.; ἀ. πρόσωπον, of Aphrodite, 1.14:— hence ἀθάνατοι, οἱ, the Immortals, , Pae. 6.50, etc.; ἀθάναται ἅλιαι, i.e. the sea goddesses, Od. 24.47: Comp. -ώτερος Phd. 99c. 2. of immortal fame, 12.322.
