ἀπολούω, I. c. acc. rei, wash off, λούειν ἄπο βρότον Il. 14.7:—Med., ὄφρʼ . . ἅλμην ὤμοιϊν ἀπολούσομαι that I may wash the brine from off my shoulders, Od. 6.219; of baptism, ἀ. τὰς ἁμαρτίας Act.Ap. 22.16. 2. c. acc. pers., wash clean, Ar.
