ἄπειμι (A), (εἰμί sum), impf. ἀπῆν (later ἀπήμην POxy. 1204.23 (iii A.D.)), 2sg. ἀπῆσθα S. Ph. 379; Ep. ἀπέην Il. 20.7, 3pl. ἄπεσαν ib.10.357: fut. ἀπέσομαι Ar. Nu. 887; Ep. ἀπέσσομαι Od. 8.150, 3sg. ἀπεσσεῖται ib.19.302:—A. to be away or far from, c. gen., ὁππότε πάτρης ἧς ἀπέῃσιν ἀνήρ ib.169, cf. 20.155,al.; ἐὰν δʼ ἀπῇ τούτων τὸ χαίρειν S.
