ἀνανεύω, fut. -νεύσομαι Pl. R. 350e, -νεύσω Luc. Sat. 1: aor. ἀνένευσα, etc.:—A. throw the head back in token of denial, make signs of refusal, opp. κατανεύω, ἐπινεύω, ὡς ἔφατʼ εὐχομένη, ἀνένευε δὲ Παλλὰς Ἀθήνη Il. 6.311; ἀνένευε καρήατι 22.205; ὀφρύσι Od. 9.468, cf. Hdt. 5.51, Ar. Lys. 126, Pl.
