ἄμαξα [ᾰ], Att. ἅμαξα, , (v. ἄξων) prop. A. frame-work, ‘châssis’ of a four-wheeled wagon (ἀπήνη), opp. πείρινς (body), Il. 24.263sqq., cf. Od. 6.37, al.:—also, of the whole wagon, ib.260, cf. Hes.
